TOWN BOARD MEETING

Town Hall March 8, 2016
Present: 8 7:00 PM

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bruce Peterson. Present Chairman Bruce Peterson, Supervisors Ken Lefeber, and Steve Koenigs.

The agenda was posted at the three posting places at the town hall, fire house, and
National Exchange Bank. Motion Lefeber, seconded Koenigs to approve the agenda as posted.
Motion carried.

Motion Lefeber, seconded Koenigs to approve the minutes of the February 3, 2016 Town
Board meeting as read with the correction of “the sale of the house and garage on the
Thelen Farm.” Motion carried.

Motion Peterson, seconded Lefeber to approve the treasurer’s report as read. Motion carried.

Motion Peterson, seconded Lefeber to transfer $19,229.60 from the General account to the checking to cover the December 29, 2015 expenses. Motion carried.

Motion Lefeber, seconded Koenigs to pay all bills as presented in the amount of $29,992.38 for the March 8, 2016 invoices and approve the payment of the loan, salt, and election wages from the 2/16/16 election in the amount of $147,047.55. Motion carried.

The bids were opened for the culverts, Johnsburg Road, and Calmar Road. These projects were
advertised in the legals of the Fond du Lac Report on February 8th and 14th, posted at the three posting places at the town hall, fire house, and National Exchange Bank and on the town’s website.

Project 1 – Replace two existing culverts on Johnsburg Road.
Baumhardt Sand & Gravel – Replace two 40' culverts with end walls - 1 each 40’ + 1 each 45' x 30” culverts w/end walls, excavation and backfill, seed and mulch. $7927.60
If seed and mulch by others – Deduct $500

G&H Trucking & Excavating – Replace two 40’ x 36” culverts with end walls.
Included in bid: remove old culverts and dispose of, dig out for new culverts and haul excess
fill off site, 2 – 40’ x 36” culverts with end walls and installation, and deliver and place gravel to cover culverts. $10,025.00

De Groot, Inc – To replace 2 culverts with 2 40’ x 36” CMP culverts with end walls.
$14,750.00

Project 2 – Pulverize and pave approximately .66 miles of Johnsburg Road and provide
necessary shoulder.
Northeast Asphalt – Option 1 – Pulverize and shape 20’ x 4” HMA (1712T) and
4” shouldering. $106,869.40
Option 2 – Pulverize and shape 22’ x 4” HMA (1882T)
shoulder excavation and gravel, 4” shouldering $158,573.40
Option 3 – 4” mill and 4” overlay x 4” HMA (1712T)
20’ wide road $102,823.20

Fond du Lac County Hwy – Option 1 – Pulverize, grade, roll, water
to install a4” HMA course, install a 2” shoulder (3580’ x 20’)(1850T) $180,650.00 Option 2 – Pulverize, grade, water, roll
4” HMA blacktop, install 2” shoulder (3580’ x 22’) (1850T) $180,650.00
Option 3 – Pulverize, grade, water, roll
4” HMA blacktop, install 2” shoulder (3580’x 20’) (1850T) $172,180.00

Project 3 – Calmar Road approximately 1.5 miles: repair rutting and overlay
with 3”HMA, provide necessary shoulder.
Northeast Asphalt – Option 1 (base bid as advertised) – 1” wedge, 2”
Overlay with shoulder. (wedge 1065T, overlay 2213T) $195,356.00
Option 2 – Wedge, 1.7” overlay, provide shoulder
(wedge 500T, overlay 2011T) $151,827.50
Fond du Lac County Hwy – Option 1 – Install a 1” leveling course of
Bt. Pave a 2” surface course for 8040 x 22’. Mill butt joints, install a 3’ shoulder
(overlay 3675T) $303,269.31

Motion Peterson, seconded Lefeber to accept the bid for 1 ¾” overlay, wedging and
shouldering for Calmar Road in the amount of $151,827.50 from Northeast Asphalt.
Motion carried.

Motion Peterson, seconded Lefeber to accept the bid from G&H Excavating for two 40’ by
36” culverts in the amount of $10,025.00. Motion carried.

Motion Lefeber, seconded Koenigs to accept the bid for Option 1 to pulverize and shape
20’ x 4” HMA with 4” shouldering on Johnsburg Road from Northeast Asphalt in the amount of
$106,869.40. Motion carried.

The following prices were presented for the mower:
Tiger – 63” flail mower $15,252.00
Tiger – 80” flail mower $18083.00
Tiger – 80” demo flail mower w/50 hrs $16583.00
Alamo – 74” flail mower $20,402.00
Diamond – 75” flail mower $12,762.00

Motion Lefeber, seconded Koenigs to purchase the 80” Tiger flail mower in the amount of
$18,083.00 and to be paid for out of the equipment fund. Motion carried.

Motion Peterson, seconded Lefeber to approve the liquor license for Brian Luxem, Marytown
Tap for the period March 8, 2016 thru June 30, 2016. Motion carried.

The next town board meeting will be on Thursday, April 7, 2016 due to the Spring Election on
April 5, 2016.

Motion Lefeber, seconded Koenigs to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried.
